Day of the Dialogue Eindhoven

4/11/2011

During the national 'Week of the Dialogue', from October 31st until November 6th, the Day of the Dialogue is organised for the third time in Eindhoven on Friday November 4th.

The purpose of this event, called 'Eindhoven in Dialoog' in Dutch, is to enable people to connect, share and inspire, across all ages, cultures, backgrounds, religions and so on. This is done by dialogues organised across the city, where people gather around a table and discuss a current local theme. This will take place in companies, organisations, secondary schools and living rooms.

In 2010 15.000 people in the Netherlands took part in the Week of the Dialogue of which about 230 people in Eindhoven. Everyone is invited to join, speaking Dutch is not necessary, there will also be discussions in English.

To show the diversity in Eindhoven as a society, photographer Saskia Holtjer is currently taking pictures of people from 158 nationalities present in Eindhoven, you can read more about this in the news item about Dialogue and Diversity in Eindhoven.
