This is the 5th year of this amazing festival featuring how art is used in technology. Eindhoven has always been known for its innovative streak and this festival showcases this in all its brilliance. The theme this year is a '50-year history of Dutch media and technological art'. This collection allows you to explore the past, present and future of technology based art and design featuring pioneers, modern artist and the trailblazers showing us the future of the medium.

All forms of art are represented at this festival. International music, film, and live performances will entertain you and you will also be asked to examine how you see and interact with the world around you (as great art is meant to do).

STRP Festival is located in the Klokgebouw (clock building) within the Strijp-S industrial complex. The event is easily accessible by bus, train or car and tickets can be bought online or at the door. For more information check STRP Festival in our Event Calendar.

Highlights of the 2011 festival include:

Edwin Van der Heide - Evolving Spark Network
An innovative interactive installation composed of grids of electric spark bridges that cross the entire space. This world renown artist uses the purist form of light in the shortest bursts possible to give us the most amazing electric starry sky imaginable.

Mathew Herbert - One Pig Live
This is the eye opening story of one pigs journey from birth to plate and everything in between. Using audio that was taped from the birth to the slaughter of the pig, live cooking demonstrations and audio visual performances, Mathew Herbert shines a light on an integral, but often overlooked, part of farm life.

Aphex Twin
Back after his very memorable 2009 performance. This years he brings us a mix of ambient techno and industrial drum and bass. Along with the emotional electronic music with an experimental edge, Aphex Twin also gives us a facemapping show that encourages the audience to participate.
